Donalda Motors opened in Bairnsdale in 1964 when brothers John and Colin McDonald purchased the site and business from Ivan Crawford who held the Massey Ferguson franchise for the Bairnsdale area.
The business operated from the original building until 1969 when a show room and offices were added. Norm Christie was the salesman at the time.
Ron Williams joined the company in 1966 and was manager and salesman for 33 years.
The first spare parts person was Adrian Mauger. Adrian previously worked in spare parts at J & E Brodribb Motors (Ferguson Tractor Dealers) in Bairnsdale.
In 1985 Donalda Motors Bairnsdale acquired the franchise of (at the time) a little known harvesting manufacturer. This manufacturer has grown to be a large player in the Australian market place and continues to be sold by Donalda Motors.
In 2004 Donalda Motors Bairnsdale was appointed as a dealer for Kubota Tractors Australia and this relationship has gone from strength to strength over the years continuing to the present day.
Donalda Motors Bairnsdale stocks a large range of spare parts and is now a franchisee for the following Brands:
